We are pleased to announce that doctoral candidate Giurgiu Daniel successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled Destine de preoți ai Arhidecanatului Romano-Catolic de Maramureș, în oglinda documentelor din arhivele Securității (The Fate of Priests of the Roman Catholic Archdeaconry of Maramureș, as Reflected in Documents from the Securitate Archives) on September 22, 2025.

Giurgiu Daniel has fully met the conditions and assessment criteria for the award of a doctoral degree.
On the one hand, he has earned the credits required by the doctoral school’s training plan in connection with his doctoral studies.
On the other hand, he has obtained the appropriate grades in the partial examinations, as well as in the presentation of the written papers required by the research program and in the defense of his dissertation before the faculty.
Finally, during his doctoral studies, he confirmed his participation in conferences required by the research program and his publications in journals included in the relevant international database.
Based on the above and the results of the public defense, the Doctoral Committee awarded Daniel Giurgiu the title of Doctor of Theology.
