Two professors of the Faculty of Greek-Catholic Theology of the Babeș-Bolyai University defended their habilitation theses in the framework of our Doctoral School of Religion, Culture and Society. Dr. Cristian Barta, professor, successfully habilitated on 19 January 2024 on the topic “Fundamental theology and dogmatics in the Romanian Greek Catholic Church united with Rome: tradition, continuity, renewal”, and Dr. Anton Rus, associate professor, on 9 February 2024 on the topic “The history of spiritual life in the Romanian Greek Catholic Church”.
According to the habilitation procedure in force in Romania, the habilitation thesis should present the candidate’s research activities, with particular reference to the research and other academic activities carried out after the defence of his/her doctoral thesis.
A competent committee has verified that the requirements for the launch of the habilitation procedure are met. The committee found that they had largely met the standards required by the self-evaluation of the Theological Commission of the National Council for the Accreditation of Titles, Diplomas and University Certificates of the Ministry of Education, and were therefore qualified to present themselves for the habilitation examination.
The Ministry of Education has approved the habilitation committee of a total of 5 members (3 full members and 2 alternates) proposed by our doctoral school. Thus, the habilitation procedure was carried out before the following habilitation committees.
